Not being much of a Hocky fan, I think Wayne saved the game. But the no-hit rule teams seemed to employ concerning him, gave him a great advantage.

Gretsky would definitely be in the same boat if its the best players ever to play the game category we were talking about.  Gretsky was a great, but I agree with you, that he was a wuss.  Orr played the game like it was supposed to be played... and his career was shortened because of that.  He didn't have enough time to show how great he was.

Of course my opinion is that of a big Bruins fans... so it might be slightly biased.  Lol.

I remember seeing Orr at the end, and he looked old beyond his years.

I think all sports fans know his name, even if they are not hockey fans. I liked Mario Limuix (bad spelling on name I'm sure) I just thought the guy added some class to hockey.

Plus I love to watch the Swedish Hockey team during the winter olympics, its always enteresting to see how good they do against the worlds greatest pros.

Wayne was good for hockey at the time. If memory serves me correctly was there not a do not touch Wayne for awhile rule in NHL. I would take Brett Hull or Mario L and a few others before Wayne.

Good Day

Hockey is also my second favorite sport behind Football.

But I do believe that hockey is the one sport that is still basically blue collar. It seems that over the year the other sports, especially Football and Basketball, ahve succumbed to alot of "Political Correctness" and I think that has weakened the integrity of those sports.

ESPN  has become a political blog as when it comes to football as much as it is a Football show. It's always so important to talk about the most recent suspensions and mouthy players.

Think about it. When is the last time you heard a hockey player suspened for drug or gun related incidents?

I guess the NHL allows them to vent their frustrations in the rink.

Yeah, it seems like some of the classiest players come out of the NHL.
