Playoffs

Okay, okay, okay, this may give all of you a big laugh, but I'm going out on a limb here, and want to check back to this at the end of the season.

Its a little known fact, or a fact not discussed much, but 50% of the teams who went to the playoffs one year will not return the next.

So here I go, these are the teams I say won't be in the playoffs this time around when the dust settles.

Arizona Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, New York Giants, San Diego Chargers, Tennessee Titans

I have some very obvious reasons for picking these teams, also I try not to let the media hypes about some teams sway what I really see going on. I'll give an example: The Giants lost their leading receiver, a guy who bailed out their less than average QB time after time. Also this team has little or no depth, except at running back. The NFC east is loaded with run stoppers on every team. WHY---you might ask---Because the Giants ran the ball last year, and without any good WRers they will have to do it again. WON"T HAPPEN.--Arizona is laoded with unhappy personnel, NE will have a tremendous motivational problem (mental is half the game) plus they have lost 3-4 to many veterens. But I'm only scratching the surface, with these observations, it goes way deeper.

But now I've made my predictions, what if any do you guys have?

Didn't notice this earlier.  These were my predictions at the beginning of the season...  Sent it to a few friends on that Thursday before the Steelers beat the Titans...  some of the predictions are going pretty good so far... others not so well...

With the start of the season coming up tonight, it is time to make predictions:

AFC East:  Patriots

AFC North:  Steelers

AFC South:  Colts

AFC  West:  Chiefs

Wildcards:   Bengals , NY Jets

Wildcard weekend:   Steelers beat Jets,  Bengals beat Chiefs

Division finals:  Pats beat Bengals, Colts beat Steelers

Conference finals:  Pats beat Colts

NFC East:  Giants

NFC North:  Packers

NFC South   Saints

NFC West:   49ers

Wildcards:  Cowboys,  Redskins

Wildcard weekend:   49ers beat Redskins, Cowboys beat Packers

Divisional weekend:  Redskins beat Giants, Saints beat Cowboys

Conference finals :  Saints beat Redskins

Patriots beat Saints in Superbowl.

Okay, this is quite involved, I'd need some time to put something together like Max has here.

Of course to simplify the whole thing----Cowboys win the SB

But I'll try and come up with something, But Max you should be able to change your mind, when the rest of us are just starting to put this together.

Holy Crap...where did this come from, what is Max a sports writer? Wow, okay I'll go buy some papers and try and check with ESPN lol, like they know anything. Hey NR, I like the Cowboys, win the SB, but we know that, and it wouldn't be fair if we didn't at least show some effort here.

Hey Max nice avatar...about time...now we know who you are, but somebody already told on you in an e-mail...damn Admin guy lmao

I was just posting what I picked before the season started.  Suppose I could change it considering what has happened now...

Wow, I just noticed that I put the 49ers beat the Redskins, and then the Redskins beat the Giants.  That would be a first if that happened!

I think the only thing I'd change in the AFC at this point is KC.   That was a bad prediction.  Guess I thought Scott Pioli was going to make more of a difference this season...   I still think he will do good for that team, but it is obviously going to take more time than I predicted.  I'd pick SD at this point.   I don't think Denver is going to hold up the whole season.  Bengals upset the Chargers, instead of the Chiefs... something I'm not sure if I can see happening, but that will make it so I don't have to tear the whole darn thing apart.

In the NFC...  Gee, do I need to change it because I'm on a Cowboys board now?????   Lol.

I'll say that inspite of Favre's inevitable second half of the season melt down, the Vikings still win the division.  Obviously have to drop the Redskins.    Unfortunately, cause I really don't like Cutler, I think Chicago takes the other wildcard at this point.

So, I'd change it so that the Cowboys beat the Vikings instead of the Packers.   And the 49'ers beat the Bears and then the Giants, and lose to the Saints in the Conference finals.

Those are the only changes I'd make...
