Do the Cowboys still have a chance?

I believe we can still make a run at this after the bye week!

The Dallas Cowboys technically lead the NFC East thanks to a head-to-head tiebreaker advantage over the Philadelphia Eagles, but I can't remember there ever being less hope for a division-leading team 10 weeks into an NFL season.

The Cowboys simply couldn't compete with the New Orleans Saints on Sunday night, falling to 5-5 in 2013, 21-21 since the start of 2011 and 133-133 since 1997.

This is an average yet horrifyingly inconsistent football team, and with injuries once again ripping the defense apart, it's obvious that the 'Boys are going to be vacationing before the divisional playoffs arrive for the fourth consecutive year.

With top pass-rusher DeMarcus Ware far from 100 percent and preseason defensive starters Jason Hatcher, Anthony Spencer, Jay Ratliff, Sean Lee, Justin Durant, Morris Claiborne and J.J. Wilcox all injured, the Cowboys stood no chance in New Orleans.

As a result, Drew Brees and the Saints became the fifth team this year to score 30 points against Dallas and the second to post more than 48 points against the Cowboys.

In their franchise history, the Cowboys have played 813 regular-season games. In only two of those 813 games have they given up more than 600 total yards. The first took place two weeks ago in Detroit, and the second took place Sunday night in New Orleans.

On paper, their two worst defensive performances in team history have been their last two road games.

To be honest hawk ... they really need to demote jason to qb coach.

he is not head coach material.

then ole fake face needs to but out of the aspect of the boys playing ball

until the the boys will be 500 at beast.

maybe 10 n 6 ...... yet more like 8 n 8 and the divison title. a bad year for the nfc east.

I think after the Giants game we will know the real truth about this team. Austin and others will be back, we'll see if they can make a run at it.
Nightrider

Ah, the rumor is true, after the Saints game this place has been empty. I see why lol

I still like Jason, and I think he can get these guys back on track. But it is what it will be

Giants beat us Adam will be here in a flash, go Cowboys

Teams are doubling Witten and Dez, and putting pressure on Romo. It seems to be working, but Miles Austin comes back this week and we need him to stick around for a while.

The kid Williams was good early but he isn't consistent. We need Austin to be the old Austin, if possible..

I fear the defense is lost?
Desperado

Williams is at least a year away, I hope Miles can come back and be or stay healthy.

We need to get some other guys back on that defense. Because they really SUCK

SUCK is the key word, or maybe hoping they will do something, might be like pissing into the wind.

Miles practiced this week and should play next week..or..until he gets hurt again. Darn shame, they need him..
Nightrider

I watch every game, and I know the Cowboys are a different team when Miles is on the field. That's really a simple fact, most people don't seem to get that at all.

Austin cannot play defense...and that is what will kill us this year.
Desperado

From what I'm hearing we are getting back some of our starters. Hopefully that will make a difference.

Plus being able to convert a 3rd down every now and then will help the defense.
Nightrider

Since the Denver game Romo has not been the same. He acts either scared or maybe he's hurt. He's throwing short 2 yrd passes when we need 8.

If the offense improves it will help the Defense a lot. JJ also said "The coaches are concentrating right now on the offense. They realize themselves something is wrong". Its simple, either Calahans play calling or Romo is changing the play way to often.
Hawk

Looks to me like everybody is making a run at the playoffs except the Skins.

I'm very surprised Adam didn't show up today. But I'll bet money if we lose to the Giants next week he'll be here in a second.
BevoMav

I think the loss of Lee is going to be too much. We could barely contain a team with Lee, and watching NO run wild after he left, I think it's over.

I think we go to NY and lose.

Different year, SOS..
Hawk

We will have had 2 weeks to prepare, and get healthy. I think with a healthier D-Line we can get after them. But we sure can't rely on 6 turnovers again.

Since the Denver game, the team has went 3-2. In the two losses the defense has allowed 1248 yards. It just doesn't matter what Tony does or doesn't do, this defense is a train wreck.
