Cowboys Vs. Redskins

                           VS

El Kabong

Lets just get on with winning this game and get to the high noon showdown with the Eagles.

Really doubt we can win...here's why....

For one, our defense could not stop most good college teams right now. It is probably the worst in the league right now.

Second, the Redskins know that if they beat Dallas and Philly wins, the Boys are eliminated from playoff competition. Their season has been so bad they would LOVE to have something to feel good about.

Third, It's in Washington. The Cowboys are atrocious on the road.

Fourth, the Redskins actually looked very good yesterday minus their turnovers. Cousins actually was solid moving the team better than RG Goon did all year. As bad as Atlanta has been, the cowboys defense is worse. Look for Cousins to shred us at home.

Fifth, Absolutely no pass rush. For whatever Reason Demarcus Ware is worthless right now. One of my favorite Cowboys of this crap era, he seems burnt out. Wether he is still nursing an injury or just getting old, he cannot do anything at this time. Without him, we have no pass rush.

Forget about it....Redskins   38  Cowboys  24
zigomanis18

Oh...I forgot the most important one...

Six, we have the worst pile of crap as a coach. You NEVER tool out your QB on national TV after your atrocious play calling was the main reason this team blew a 23 point lead. Unprofessional and pathetic. This guy doesn't know when to pass or run in crunch time, always calling the wrong plays at the wrong times. When he leaves Dallas NO ONE is going to hire him for anything.

Aikman said it more than once. Why is this team going away from the run? A friggin 5 point lead with 6 minutes to go and you throw down the field passes on first down after the packers had not been able to stop our run all game long? No excuse!
Hawk

Take this one to the Bank....Cowboys win this game...no problemo
LoneStar

Easy win this week, yeah lmao
Desperado

I see a bad moon rising

Cowboys win this and head towards the playoffs....Eagles can suck the big one
El Kabong

Cowboys will win this, not even a problem with this game

LOL! How the heck can you say that? With this defense, EVERY game is a problem. Unless of course, you guarantee us to score 56 points.

We could not even win the game we scored 48 points in earlier this year.
zigomanis18

Oh,,, and did Forget the mention..Jason Garrett is a piece of sh*t ?  LOL!
Hawk

You just have to have the FAITH.....what can I say....I never gave up, so I don't expect this team to give up either.

But what the hell do I know?

Redskins suck, but they have the 3rd best rushing offense in the NFL. Tony will be in for another long day. Maybe his WRers can find a way to catch some passes this week.

Still a Garrett guy, I want him here for years to come. I like his plan and he's young enough to get it done in the long run.

I do not have a good feeling about this game at all.  I seriously foresee our D giving up around 400 to Cousins, along with 100 to Morris.  O will struggle as they ALWAYS seem to on the road.  Additionally, no matter what kind of defense the skins field, we struggle against them for some reason.  Remember, we beat the Skins in the first matchup mostly because of Harris.  He's out.

I do think we should see some improvement in the defense this week. I think its physically impossible not to have some improvement.

This defense has a chance to step up the final 2 weeks, I think they'll be average, but average is good at this point in time.
Hawk

Williams will not be playing, guess what, he's out with a hamstring injury.

!2th player we've had out with a hamstring injury. Anybody ever think it might be the surface they are practicing on? Something serious is going on here nad they haven't figured it out yet.

Miles will get most of the playing time with Harris and Williams out. Hope his hammy holds up the entire game.

Beasley will run back kicks and punts, if he gets hurt, don't have a clue where we go from there.
Desperado

Gets better, Carr has been out the last 2 days with a mysterious illness, and Ware in complaining of a bad back. We ahired some guy off the stretts who will start against the Redskins.

This is all bad, I've never seen anything like the injuries on this team

IRVING, Texas – The Cowboys need all the confidence they can get this week as they head to Washington in a game they need to win to likely keep their season alive.

And while they’ve already defeated the Redskins 31-16 back in mid-October, the Cowboys probably won’t have the star of that game this week.

Dwayne Harris has been ailing with a nagging hamstring injury that has forced him out of two of the last three games. He’ll likely miss this week’s game in Washington as well and with that, he might not be back for the rest of the regular season.

So in an attempt to add a veteran presence who can at least try to fill in for the do-it-all Harris, the Cowboys have signed veteran Michael Spurlock, who reunites once again with special teams coach Rich Bisaccia.

Spurlock has played for Bisaccia in both Tampa Bay and San Diego, although he played nine games in Detroit this year.

Like Harris, Spurlock has experience as a punt returner, kick returner and also covers kicks. For his career, he has 80 punt returns for a 9.0 yard average and 104 kickoff returns, averaging 24.5 yards a return. He has five career touchdowns returns on punts (two) and kickoffs (three).

Losing Harris will be a big blow for the Cowboys. Harris ranks sixth in the NFL with a 30.5 kick return average. And his 14.0 yard punt return average would rank second in the league if he had enough returns to qualify.

Against the Redskins back in October, Harris was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week when he returned a punt 86 yards for a touchdown and later had a 90-yard kickoff return that led to another touchdown.

Spurlock is one of three players to be signed to the roster, along with linebacker Orie Lemon, who was with the team but cut last week to make room for Edgar Jones. The Cowboys are also expected to add defensive tackle Frank Kearse, who was on Tennessee’s practice squad but has played six games in his career with the Panthers

Wait, is Ware not playing now?  Are you kidding me?  While he's generally amounted to nothing for the team this season, it still gives me a little more confidence to have a guy of his stature on the field.  This is unreal.

Ware says he'll be playing but he has a sore back, so once again he won't be playing at 100%.

Don't really think Cowboys, Redskins means much at all. Bears will beat the Eagles and it will come down to the last game anyway.

The Cowboys will get some good calls this week. The league wants them to win so they can switch the Eagles, Boys game to Sunday night.

I think you are right, we will get a shot at the playoffs.

Simply put, the Cowboys are all done...

Washington wins....38-24

No defense ?  No victory  !!!

We better hope our defense holds them to 24 points or under, because I seriously doubt our offense rises to the occasion on the road.  Just a gut feeling.
zigomanis18

Our offense is not the problem despite the jokes about Romo choking everywhere on FB.

Romo has had a solid season, as he did last year when he threw for over 4900 yards.

When you put up 48 points, over 500 yards and 5 Td's in a game, and throw ONE INT, that's not his fault. Also when you put up 36 points and have a 26-3 halftime lead, that's not his fault.

If you put up that many points and have that big of a lead you should NOT have to worry about last minute comebacks. But we do because our defense is terrible. We will not lose this due to our offense....but just watch how the skins rip us apart on defense.

I'm not trying to play an I-told you-so game here, but I'm telling you.  Watch:  Our offense will struggle against the Skins tomorrow.  We struggled against them the first time we played them, AT HOME.  Thank God for Dwayne Harris in that game, because we wouldn't have won without him.

Not sure I can agree with you on this one MrM. Take away Harris's 2 TDs and we still win that game.

Plus a lot has changed since that game was played. I think the Cowboys defense will rise to the occasion this week, like they did the last Redskins game.

If we can't defeat a 3-11 team, we sure don't belong in a playoff game.

A maligned Cowboys defense that allowed 51 points to the Broncos the week prior came back to hold the Redskins to just one touchdown and three field goals and an 0-for-3 mark in red zone efficiency. The defense held when it mattered most, as the Cowboys outscored the Redskins, 10-0, in the fourth quarter, even without DeMarcus Ware for the majority of the game.

Both Ware (quad) and DeMarco Murray (knee) left with injuries in the first half, leaving Kyle Wilber and Joseph Randle to handle the majority of the duties at defensive end and running back, respectively.
Hawk

Well we have an early game today, we can get the drama over early.
Hawk

End of 1st quarter, Cowboys offense looking like crap.
Hawk

Cowboys worked their *** off for that score, now maybe the Cowboys defense can holf for a change
LoneStar

Well as usual we have one the first half, I hope they pound the ball in the second half.

But I realize that can only happen if our defense can do something. The front 4 are getting no pressure at all on Cousins. They better stay with the blitz, its been semi-working.
Hawk

Wash. is killing us stat wise...but what the hell
El Kabong

I hope whats left of the defense can find a way to hold on. We are out of LBers.
Hawk

I don't know if anybody is paying attention, but that fullback is blocking for Murray.

Before I could finish he fumbles, oh **** here we go again.
LoneStar

The offense need to get rolling and help our weak D out or were finished
Hawk

Everything over the middle is wide open, we have no LBers covering anybody. They keep blocking out Carr and they are killing us, where the hell is Carter?
El Kabong

Looks tome like Romo is going to have to make a 4th quarter comeback.
Hawk

I'm going to watch 1 more series by Romo then I'm going to the weatern channel and watch Trinity.
Hawk

Damn way too much drama clown But you called it Kabong. I'll take it, hope we can get some people healthy next week.

We are on life support but still alive.

Putting Scandrick on Garcon sealed the deal for us. Damn Scandrick has really upped his game.

Seems to me no chokers at the end of this game everybody stepped up. Can we stop the talk about getting rid of people till the end of the season?

The frustrating aspect to me is simply thinking about changing head coaches again.

Jimmy Johnson - 5 years.
Barry Switzer - 4 years.
Chan Gailey - 2 years
Dave Campo - 3 years.
Bill Parcells - 4 years.
Wade Phillips - 4 years.
Jason Garrett - 3 years?

You can't build anything rolling through head coaches at this rate.

I'd rather have Jason Garrett in his fourth year keeping the offense intact instead of some new guy taking the big headset and changing who knows what.
Desperado

Great win, bring on the Eagles
zigomanis18

GREAT WIN !

They proved me wrong but I am still frustrated at their play calling and decisions. Blowing a half time lead because of turnovers and stupidity cannot happen next week.

This team is not going anywhere even if we get in but it  WOULD be nice to finish as division champs and go 6-0 in the division.
Hawk

One thing this team has proven all season, is they play to the other teams level.

If and I do say if, we get in the playoffs, you just never know what could happen. Every team out there has shown they can be beaten.

Plus we will get quite a few players back if we go that far.
zigomanis18

No Romo now? That means we need our defense to step up... Not good!
