All-time wrestling legend Macho Man Randy Savage died at age 58 on Friday after suffering a heart attack and being involved in a car accident, according to TMZ.com

Florida Highway Patrol told TMZ that Macho Man -- whose real name was Randall Mario Poffo -- went across a concrete media, through oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a tree. He was transpored to Largo Medical Center where he died.

Lynn, his wife, was also in the car, but she had minor injuries. Officials told TMZ that both people were wearing seatbelts and that alcohol was not a factor.

Macho Man was known for his prolific wrestling career and later became synonymous with Slim Jims for his "snap into a Slim Jim" ads. Friday afternoon on Twitter, "Slim Jim" was actually a worldwide trending topic, along with #ripmachoman.

Hulk Hogan, another wrestling legend and one of Macho Man's contemporary peers, weighed in on the death on Twitter.

"I'm completely devastated, after over 10 years of not talking with Randy, we've finally started to talk and communicate," Hogan wrote. "He had so much life in his eyes & in his spirit, I just pray that he's happy and in a better place and we miss him.

"We miss him a lot. I feel horrible about the ten years of having no communication. This was a tough one."

Before his wrestling days, Randy Savage was actually Randy Poffo, the minor league baseball player. In four seasons, he hit .254, driving in 66 runs and hitting 16 home runs. He never ascended above Class A baseball, playing his final season in Tampa in 1974.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson added: "RIP Randy "Macho Man" Savage - you were one of my childhood inspirations and heros. Strength, love and prayers to the Savage/Poffo family."

Shawn Michaels, another fixture of the wrestling world, said he heard from another wrestling mainstay, Chris Jericho. "We've lost one of the greats!! Our prayers go out to the family & friends of Randy Savage."

Jericho also expressed his condolences via Twitter. "Randy Savage was a true influence and inspiration to me and taught me some very important lessons,in and out of the ring. Rest in peace Mach"

It is sad to hear and know He has past away.

Yet it may come to pass in days to come after a medical examination. That He died due to steroid use. If this does come to pass it will be even a sadder state of affairs knowing Vince M will still go unpunished for his greed of the dollar and for allowing and promoting steroid use in the wrestling world.

R.I.P.  Randy " Macho Man " Savage

Steriod use is the price a lot of guys are willing to pay for fame.

Guys like Randy and the Hulk, you just think they will always be around.

RIP Randy, Wrestling won't be the same without you.

Keep your faith in God, but keep your powder dry. But above all watch out for those pesky Redskins
