MBC you asked on the torre thread about one player making a difference. Watch the Phillies this year. They are full of players that make a difference. Ron Howard, Chase Utley, Raul Ibanez, Shane Victorino, Jason Werth, all would make a difference on a team rasing them up to the next level. The Phills are going to run away with the National League. If they get a little help in pitching they are a lock to repeat. That said they have the horses to win the series in any case. Maybe one of the best ball teams to have ever been assembled. One pitcher goes down and the farm system sends up anothe quality pitcher. I'm a baseball nut and watch a lot of games and this is an awesome sports team. Maybe a mini dynasty coming for Philadelphia.... Got to love it!

paroadie..

I followed the Phillies when Pete Rose and Schmidt were there and the Lenny Dykstra. Outside of the Rose teams they seemed to be like the Me ts and always found away to go south down the stretch. I do Hope that excel this year towards the  Braves and the Reds and the Yankee's. I have for a long time. Like follow the Braves from Dale Murphy days, and the Reds from Joe Morgan days, and the Yankee's from Thurman Munson Days.
Those would be the top three..I do not think that the Braves will get it done this year for they are still young in away..Yankee's are to loaded with the ego and some what old..The Reds..well the ownership is enough.

Phillie's if they stay healthy and continue to play as a team should be fine and go deep into the playoffs. they are my sleeper to spoil La's bid for the W.S.

LA is looking good but I think the Phillies will get them. They are making a bid for Halladay and if they get him turn the lights off. braves have a long way to come back. Yankee's well they have their hands full. Three hundred bucks a seat behind the plate. Most of the seats are empty.

" 300 bucks behind the plate "

The greed of the dollar has taken the middle man out of all sports and it is that middle class American that got them all where they are today.

Looking back over archived clips..it was always a bunch of men most with their sons tossing up hats when there was something of splendor happen. Greed took away the enjoyment of father and son and Kennedy on his inauguration did not wear a hat..I believ the first President to do so and thus the death of the Fedora.

The Phillies...it will come down to their middle relief and relief towards the end of the season. If they get home field through out...look out,if not it will be tough going to LA for Torre will have them ready to play.
